Warning your Bible may be counterfeit?
You will not believe this, but many fundamental Bible believing Christians, I said many, not all believe that there are at least some errors in the Bible(They say translation mistakes).
Think about this. If your Bible has some "mistakes", "translation problems", omissions, additions, or errors can it really be 100% trust worthy?
That means that somewhere in your Bible there is some problem. Is it John 3:16, II Timothy 3:16, or do you believe it is only a few obscure passages?
Most Christians will not admit it, but because many preachers have unwittingly played into the hands of the Adversary we are led to believe that the originals were inspired but time has taken its toll due to the many translations and different languages.
Was not the Word of God given to the Hebrews in just their tongue. And was not the New Testament given in just the common Greek tongue. Well guess what, the preserved Word of God was preserved in the English tongue. And I happen to know where it is. It is in the King James Bible. There I said it.
Want to know why our Christian Churches are declining, losing power, not winning souls, losing to the cults. It is because we no longer have faith in our Bible.
I know we preach and teach from it, but we really don't believe it could actually be the very Word of God, do you?
The Acid Test:
Ask your Pastor the following questions (This is based on the fact he is using a KJV Bible).
Question #1 - Is his Bible the preserved Word of God?
Psalms:12:6: The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
Psalms:12:7: Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
If he says no, ask him what the "for ever" means in the above verse.
Question #2 - Does the Bible have any mistakes, errors, additions and or omissions in it?
If he says yes, ask him to show you the passages. If he cannot, pray for God to open his eyes.
Proverb:30:5: Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
Proverb:30:6: Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
If he says all Bibles have some problems (Many say the Bible has some difficultly in translation because they just can't bring themselves to say error) ask him what "Add thou not" means in the verse above.
At this point they will grow impatient with you, and try to portray you as one of those KJV only guys. You know, the radical Christian that has faith in the Book, and knows that his or her salvation depends on the truths of the Bible. Be patient with them (They are only repeating what they have been told).
Last question, ask them how much trust do they put in their Bible? Remember one error equals less then 100% trust.
